Outline Web Architecture and Components which enable Internet and Web Functionality


In this blog, I will be explaining how web architecture and components allow the internet and web to function.


Protocol
- Its a way of exchanging data over computer network and communicate with different computer systems. Each protocol work in a different ways and have different way of exchanging data. The most common protocol is HTTP( Hypertext Transfer Protocol), and it works by sending out a request to the person for permission to transfer data to their system. This is used when you search 'http:/www ', that shows you are using that protocol.

Web Server-  Web servers are computers that deliver web sites. Every web server has an IP address and possibly a domain name. A Web server is a program that uses HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) to serve the files that form Web pages to users, in response to their requests, which are forwarded by their computers' HTTP clients. It is a computer where files are stored which can be accessed through internet.

Node- A network node is a connection point for data transmission on a communications network that can function as a redistribution point or an end point.

Web 2.0- It is the 2nd version of the internet and is in a developed version of it. It offers lots of different uses that wasn't possible before such as posting blogs, having social networks such as Facebook or having online applications.

Routers- It is a device that forward information/data between other computer network that the router is connected to. It is mostly required when the person have more than one computer, so that the information can be shared between all these computers through the router.

Web Hosting Services- It is a service that lets your website be shown and others can view it on the internet. A web host provide space in their server to allow other to purchase that space and show their website there. There are some free and paid web host services, so you can decide which service you want to show your website in.

Internet Service Providers- It provide other companies or individuals internet service and have access to internet. These companies usually have to pay to connect to the ISP, which are mostly by broadband connection such as BT broadband which is popular. There are lots of broadband such as cable broadband, fibre broadband and others. Finally there are wireless broadband internet service provider which send the internet to the data centre, which then goes to the wireless network access point and finally reach the location that requires the internet, such as your office.

This shows how wireless broadband internet service provide internet to others such as companies.

World Wide Web- It is a collection of webpages that are found through hyperlinks documents. So you can access the web through the web browser using internet
